By Tracy Hansen, APRN, FNP
Hello. I am Tracy Hansen. I am so excited to be here! This is literally a dream come true for me; to be working in Slayton at Murray County Medical Center in Family Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner! I am going to share a little about me, my family, background, and practice.
I live near Currie on a crop farm with my husband and two children, ages 6 and 3. Matt is my husband and a born and raised Currie native. Christian is my six year old son who is in kindergarten and loves all things green (especially tractors 😊). Avery is my sassy three year old, going on 13. She loves all things her brother loves. We enjoy being outside, going to the lake, and family outings.
Being a Family Nurse Practitioner means that I was a registered nurse prior to advancing my education and scope of practice. I have worked in rural settings my entire career as a practicing nurse, with experience in the long-term care setting and critical care access facilities, including Sanford Tracy, along with a casual position here at MCMC in the hospital. Over the past five years, I was an instructor in nursing education at Minnesota West in the RN program.
My practice at MCMC as a Family Nurse Practitioner includes assessing, diagnosing, evaluating, and managing patient care, including prescribing medications. I am excited to see all patients across the lifespan from birth to elder! Whether you have a new health concern, need someone to manage your current health, or are looking to stay healthy, I want to help you be your best. I am available in the clinic Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, for appointments and new patients. Please call 507-836-6153 to schedule with me today.
